The East-Asia Inclusive City Network (EA-ICN) connects civil society activists, government officials, and researchers from East Asian cities—including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong—who work to combat discrimination and exclusion. Established in 2011, the network has held annual workshops to share practical experiences and research findings aimed at fostering inclusive urban development.
At the 13th workshop, following presentations and discussion, participants will visit the sites of transitional housing projects and community-based initiatives in Hong Kong’s subdivided flat (劏房, Tong Fong) areas. These visits will highlight local housing challenges, listen to residents’ voices, and provides insights into alternative solutions.
During the workshop, IIUD plans to present its research titled, “Housing Rights of Marriage Migrants in South Korea: Barriers to accessing social housing programmes and policy recommendations.”
